Since you have some obstructions on the side of the trailer preventing the main door from swinging all the way open you'll need to use an angled door keeper like the 45-Degree T-Style Hook and Keeper Door Holder part # 37211765. Then for the tack room you should be able to get away with just a standard keeper like the T-Style Hook and Keeper Door Holder for Trailer Rear or Side Door part # PLR9-SS.

As long as the doors are less than 1-1/16 inch thick the Latch part # L3980 would be exactly what you would want. These are a smaller latch that have locks built into them that are very reliable.

You are going to have to measure the thickness of your door. I wish there was a way to determine the thickness of a trailer door by looking at the VIN or elsewhere, but that info isn't something a trailer manufacturer would list somewhere since it's not super relevant for most people.

We do offer a hinge that may work well for you. I recommend part # PLR1904-Z. This is a barn door hinge for dump trucks and is made of 1/4 inch steel. This has a smooth surface that is designed for welding. I have also attached a photo of this hinge you can take a look at.

It sounds like you are looking for a handle latch for your cam-door lock like part # 383200. For that you would want the part # 158-101.
Only issue you may have is that the mounting holes for this are 4-1/4 inches apart. You may have to relocate the latch either to the left or to the right of your current holes. view full answer...

Most likely it's possible but the level of modification you'll need to do is hard to say. We have ramp door hinge kits like the part # PLR1904-Z which you'd weld to the back of the trailer and then attach a ramp door to. I pulled up some pictures of your 2004 Kristi trailer and it looks like a slide bar style cam latch is used to secure the rear door.

There are options for you, and it really comes down to how much of the fabrication you are able to do yourself or if you are going to have to have someone do the work for you.
The most cost effective way is reinforcing your double door and converting it to a ramp. You will need to change the hinge to one like the 3" Wide Continuous Stainless Steel Hinge # SH300 and then add a new latch like the # 305736 on each side to keep the door closed.

Yes, the Conventional Ramp Door Spring part # 362SA8HD that you referenced will help make the ramp door feel a lot lighter than it currently is. When wound properly it could lift up to 230 lbs. The install of this can be somewhat dangerous since it's a torsion spring setup that requires quite a bit of torque which is why we don't include instructions and have to recommend that you find a garage door installer with experience winding these types of springs to install it. view full answer...
What you're planning sounds like it would work, but you'll need to be sure you have some cross members in the door where each hinge mounts. Since the doors are large and are likely pretty heavy, I'd use the biggest hinges you can.
If you were wanting the hinge to swing all the way up against the side of the trailer, I'd recommend using # 2212. A hook and keeper, part # 383400 would hold the door open for you as you load/unload.
